We are proud to announce that the first Summer School on Emerging Concepts of Logistics (ECoL) will finally take place in August 2015 in Istanbul. Master and PhD candidates, Post-Docs as well as practitioners are invited to discuss innovations in the interdisciplinary and service-oriented field of logistics during a six-day programme, touching upon a variety of topics regarding Resilient Urban Industrial Systems. The ECoL network aims at integrating neighboring disciplines; this means one does not necessarily have to be an educated logistician in order to apply for admission to the ECoL Summer School.
The summer school will take place from the 17th to the 22nd of August 2015 on Koç University’s scenic campus in the North of Istanbul. It is the first of a whole series of events to establish the European ECoL network. The idea to connect experts on Emerging Concepts of Logistics evolved within the EU-project LOG4GREEN. This undertaking as a so called Regions of Knowledge initiative was set up to develop a joint research agenda on sustainable logistics. Now through ECoL, the groundbreaking collaboration of several European research projects will be made accessible to a wider audience and to extended expert groups. The long term goal of the ECoL network is to initiate and strengthen partnerships and therefore to intensify research on ECoL topics.
ECoL Summer School 2015 is conjointly organised by Koç University, Istanbul, and the University of Duisburg-Essen.
