On behalf of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) the Centre for Water and Environmental Research (ZWU) and the Centre for Logistics and Traffic (ZLV) of the University of Duisburg-Essen are hosting a DAAD Alumni Seminar on the topic of Water, Waste & Energy – Environmental and Supply Chain Management (WE-Chain II) in preparation for the IFAT 2018 (14th-18th May 2018 in Munich), the World’s Leading Trade Fair for Water, Sewage, Waste and Raw Materials Management.
The participation at the Alumni Seminar including the IFAT 2018 is scheduled to take place from 6th – 19th May 2018. The seminar will be held at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Essen.
With direct reference to the World’s Leading Trade Fair IFAT 2018, the Alumni Seminar will approach five main topics: water resources management, water and wastewater treatment, waste removal and recycling, energy generation from waste and soil remediation. By focusing on interdisciplinary and integrated urban management, the seminar aims to transfer knowledge of water, waste and energy for a holistic understanding of sustainability at urban scale. Various supply chain management concepts and strategies will be illustrated in the Seminar.
The program is of interest for motivated Alumni from all relevant areas like Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture, Environmental and Medical Sciences, Water, Waste and Energy Management; Supply Chain Management; Sustainability Research etc.
The costs will be mainly covered by funds from the DAAD provided by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
